PUGWASH – A little bit of rain didn’t dampen the spirits of people who came out for the 62nd annual Gathering of the Clans yesterday in Pugwash.
I was concerned that the rain might make it slippery for the Highland Dancers but the forecast was better than anticipated,” said Lisa Betts, event coordinator.
This year’s event included the annual parade, bagpipe and drum competitions, the Heavyweight Highland Games, and several bands, followed by fireworks at 10:15 p.m.
Money raised during the Gathering of the Clans helps many organizations, including the Hospital Auxiliary, Ground Search and Rescue, and the Pugwash Fire Hall.
