TIMBERLEA - Police have charged an 18-year-old man with attempted murder after a stabbing in Timberlea over the weekend.
The RCMP were called to a home on Governors Lake Road around 2:40 a.m. Sunday. The victim, police say, was in the backyard of the home when he was confronted by an unknown person wearing a mask.
A struggle ensued and the teen was stabbed after police say the suspect tried to steal his watch.
The suspect fled the scene and the victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
On Sunday night, police say they arrested an 18-year-old at a residence on Drysdale Road in Spryfield. They also searched the residence and seized what they say included several knives.
The 18-year-old is charged with attempted murder, attempted robbery and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. He has been remanded to the Burnside jail until his next court appearance on Wednesday.
