Two Springhill men were arrested on drug charges following an investigation by the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit.
SPRINGHILL – A 49-year-old Springhill man was arrested and charged with trafficking in hydromorphone and possession of cannabis marijuana following an investigation by the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit on Tuesday.
The unit executed a search warrant in Springhill during which a quantity of hydromorphone pills, cash and marijuana were seized.
The Springhill man will be appearing in provincial court on July 29 to respond to the charges.
As well, a 33-year-old Springhill man was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant and for illegal possession of hydromorphone pills.
A quantity of hydromorphone pills was found in his clothing during the investigation. He was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear in provincial court in Amherst on Wednesday.
Hydromorphone is a Schedule 1 controlled narcotic under the Controlled Drugs and Substancs Act, and is five times more powerful than morphine.
