Worker dies from injuries after electrical accident in Bayers Lake

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a workplace accident in Bayers Lake.

Halifax police are on scene of a fatal workplace accident in Bayers Lake.

At 1:30 p.m., police say a 39-year-old Williamswood man working inside a building at 201 Chain Lake Dr. suffered an electrical accident. Halifax Regional Police spokesman Const. Pierre Bourdages said the victim was rushed to hospital by paramedics and died in hospital.

Police and the Department of Labour remain on scene in the back of the plaza when the man was electrocuted. The building includes stores such as Rogers, Quiznos and is near to the McDonald’s.

Nova Scotia Power is also there as power has been shutdown to the entire complex as police and labour officials investigate.

There is no time estimate to when power will be restored.
