Travis is NOT qualified to do more than play video games! How dare he believe that he can represent the needs of an entire community. He doesn't have the life experience or education to allow him to fulfill such an important role. Shame on the PC Party!!

I long for the days when we had well qualified Tory candidates under Robert Stanfield and G.I. Smith. John Buchanan and Rodney MacDonald were disasters for our party. John Hamm certainly tried to bring back some credibility but he didn't have a strong talent pool in his caucus to draw from, either on the mainland or here in Cape Breton. I didn't vote in 2009 as I didn't like MacDonald and I doubt I'll be voting in this election as I don't like Baillie and the candidates he's running. And I certainly wouldn't vote for the Liberals or Dippers.

Baillee needs all the help he can get standing up to bullies cause he himself is not very good at it. If he is picking Travis, Baillee should also have picked that elementary school reading assistant volunteer in truro to run for him too, the reading assistant who was bullied by the truro bible hill pc association into losing her volunteer position at the truro elementary school after correcting Baillee’s understanding of the public education system at his truro town hall meeting. (TDN - Reading assistant stripped of volunteer position after speaking out against cuts. Published on April 16, 2012). Not only could she speak up to the effects of bullying like travis, she could also help ensure the ns education system actually taught kids how to read, and, foremost, help Baillee get rid of all the rodney era bullies still permeating throughout all his local pc associations, like in truro bible hill. Baillee should have stood up for that reading assistant volunteer, he didn't, he couldn’t, so as not to expose, and possibly lose, the bullies/faithful within the pc party that got him nominated unopposed and elected in cumb. south, the same bullies who ran Karen Casey out of the party. ( TDN - Casey's full statement after jumping to Liberals. Published on January 10, 2011) Baillie is even guilty here in this article of bullying his own party in his statement “Nova Scotia needs a voice like Travis’s at the decision making table if we are truly prepared to take bold action against bullying”, clearly a verbal warning/roadblock against any other pc party member who may think they want to come forward and challenge for this seats nomination. In truro bible hill the response to a nomination was "It could be two or three months or longer. It's early yet," "There are others who talk about having an interest in it ... a number of names are being tossed around but can't say anything until official papers are filled out. (TDN- Cox to throw hat into the ring for PC nomination Published on February 1, 2012) The PCs are only using Travis for their benefit, not to benefit Travis and his cause. They don’t expect Travis to win, hoping only to gain provincial support by aligning with Travis personal work on bullying. If Baillee actually thought Travis could win this seat, Baillee would run in it himself, because that is where he actually lives, not anywhere near the seat he says he represents, Cumberland south. It is odd Travis would connect himself to a party that openly, publicly, bully and attack others… on the way they look, the way they talk, where they are from, how they dress, what they do for a living….openly bully anyone they think is in their way, in truro that apparently was a volunteer elementary school reading assistant. Maybe travis hasn’t seen any of the tory tv attack ads of them bullying others. Sitting in the house saying nothing while his pc team-mates and federal counterparts pile it on and do their bullying on others won’t look good on travis. How will Travis stand up to that? My guess is he won’t, because truly, once there, like baillee, he will choose to overlook all the bullying, all in the greed for the Holy Grail, a big pension and daily stipends. He will very quickly find out his campaign against bullying was only effective outside of politics in the public eye holding the media and government of the day to task. Travis better hope somebody else wants this badder than him to come forward in Halifax Clayton Park. The PC Titantic is not to the bottom yet. It is almost there and poor Travis is now on it..

The PC Party should really vet its candidates more seriously before they back them!!! I knewTravis when he went to UNBSJ. His post secondary education is a joke - he failed almost half his university classes and dropped out (just check - it's true); he's argumentative, coaches didn't like him - he's NOT a team player - he couldn't get elected for anything at UNBSJ....and now all this publicity has gone to his head I would tell anyone who thinks this guy is a serious contender to think again. He DOESN'T have the smarts or the work ethic to properly represent a constituency! DON'T FALL FOR IT! He no longer has altruistic goals, it's all about the money and the spotlight. C'mon people, say "NO"!!!

I can't understand how someone with absolutely zero experience in politics and has never managed people can be a candidate for for any riding. Is this a joke?

The shortest political career every! you would think that someone that came up with such a great idea would have his feet planted firmly on the ground and then he does something stupid. Why would anyone even consider associating with that rudderless clowns. I have a great idea lets sell NSP and then NSLC.

this is whats wrong with politics today. What other qualifications does this young, inexperienced man have other than being the founder of the pink shirt day?????? 15 minutes of fame does not automatically qualify you for a life in politics.
