Top dogs from near and far strut their stuff

AMHERST-Dog owners and handlers from near and far gathered this weekend in Amherst at the annual Tantramar Kennel Club all-breed dog show.

One of these owners was Sharon Kleim from Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

“It’s nice to get the chance to show my dog,” stated Kleim proudly.

Kleim’s dog Casha, a three-year-old Skye Terrier is not just your average dog. In fact, she has the pedigree of a champion.  “Her father, an eight-year-old Skye Terrier, is the all-time top winning Skye Terrier in Canadian history” stated Casha’s handler and Kleim’s daughter Allison Foley.

Another dog in attendance was Mabel, a young West Highland White Terrier bred, owned and handled by Faith Houck of Hammonds Plains.

“It takes hours and hours of preparation in order to prepare a dog for a show such as this one,” claimed Houck.

The annual Tantramar Kennel Club all-breed dog show concludes today at Amherst Stadium, running until about 6:00 pm.
