RCMP looking for information on alleged credit card fraud

HALIFAX – RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance for information related to the arrest of two men arrested in New Brunswick in connection with an alleged credit card scam.

Investigators believe the two, 31-year-old Li Yi and 21-year-old Puyan Guan of Toronto, may have used counterfeit credit cards at various stores and gas bars in Nova Scotia.

They were arrested May 9 when Codiac Regional RCMP intercepted their vehicle after being alerted by loss prevention officers after the two men attempted to buy gift cards at various locations in the Moncton area.

Police seized counterfeit credit cards, prepaid gift cards and a variety of electronic equipment.

Both have been charged with fraud.
