PICTOU LANDING - Pictou Landing and Little Harbour Fire Departments responded to a structure fire on Pictou Landing Road, directly across from the fire department Friday afternoon.

Firefighters received the call at 4 p.m. and responded quickly, Pictou Landing Fire Chief Jim Roper said, though the house, which had a “for sale” sign out front, was almost completely lost in the blaze.

By 6 p.m., parts of the structure were still standing, but most of the house was completely gone or extensively damaged by the fire. Roper said no one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
