PROSPECT - Police in Halifax say a 52-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries after being attacked with an axe in Prospect.

Just after 9 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to a home in the 200 block of Prospect Bay Road after the victim was hit multiple times with an axe. She suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital by paramedics.

“When we arrived it was quite a scene,” said RCMP spokesman Cpl. Scott MacRae. “There was a lot of blood due to a being attacked with an axe several times.”

About 90 minutes later, police say two female youths were arrested in a vehicle on Mumford Road in Halifax and taken into custody.

Police say the victim and the youths are known to one another.

There was no word on charges but police are investigating it as an attempted murder.

The world is getting crazier by the day ., and it seems that more young people have less respect and are resorting to violence as a means to get what they want ,,,,there is a lack of concern for the other person!!
