Amherst's Archway Insurance is one of three finalists for the national family enterprise business award.
AMHERST – Less than a month after winning the provincial family enterprise award, Archway Insurance is one of three finalists for CAFE's 2013 National Family Enterprise of the Year.
"The Stack family is extremely honoured to be a national finalist for CAFE's Family Enterprise of the Year Achievement Award," says Archway Insurance regional manager Gina McFetridge, one of three siblings currently working in the family business.
"We appreciate the opportunities that CAFE has provided us to learn from and share with successful family businesses in our province and across Canada. We look forward to meeting the other finalists at the awards banquet in June."
Last month, Archway was named CAFE Nova Scotia's Family Enterprise of the Year. The Stack family will now go on to participate in a national awards banquet in Toronto this June.
“I am very fortunate to be able to work successfully with my parents, wife, sister and brother,” added company vice-president Michael Stack. “We have a wonderful group of employees that also play an important role in Archway’s success and I’d like to thank them for their personal and professional contributions over the years.”
With nine offices located in communities across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, the company rebranded itself as Archway Insurance in 2011. Over the past 25 years, it has become one of the top independent brokerages in Atlantic Canada.
It’s also continuing to grow, announcing last week that it has purchased SNC Insurance of Halifax.
Archway provides quality careers for approximately 70 people (including six family members) in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, and is actively transitioning from first to second generation management and ownership.
