An Amherst man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting another by hitting him in the head several times with a beer bottle.
AMHERST – A 39-year-old Amherst man is facing several charges after an incident that sent a 31-year-old to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The 39-year-old is charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling, assault causing bodily harm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It’s alleged he struck the other man several times in the head with a beer bottle.
The assailant was known to tenants of the apartment but entered without permission.
He made a brief court appearance on Monday and was released on conditions. He is scheduled to return May 6 for election and plea.
