Two suffer serious injuries after Highway 8 crash

CALEDONIA - A man and woman are in hospital with serious injuries after a vehicle collision in Queens County Sunday night.

At about 8:30 pm Sunday, RCMP responded to the scene in Caledonia on Highway 8  where a car carrying a man and woman had left the road and overturned into a ditch.

The 29 year-old Caledonia man was transported by ambulance to the South Shore Regional Hospital, while the 24-year-old Mahone Bay woman was airlifted to the QEII.

Police say both sustained serious head injuries in the crash.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and Highway 8 was closed for about 90 minutes as police investigated the scene.
