SYDNEY — Cape Breton Post editorial cartoonist Sean Casey has been nominated for a 2012 Atlantic Journalism Award.

The Glace Bay native was especially pleased to be nominated with a pair of cartoonists he especially admires, Bruce MacKinnon and Michael de Adder, both of the Halifax Chronicle-Herald.

“Bruce MacKinnon is a legend and Michael de Adder is one of the most printed editorial cartoonists in Canada,” said Casey. “It’s an honour to be nominated with them.”

This is the second year in a row that Casey has been nominated for an Atlantic Journalism Award for his editorial cartoons. He was also nominated in 2004.

Atlantic Journalism Awards in 26 separate categories will be presented during a gala dinner and awards event at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel on Saturday, May 11.
