Guns, ammo seized during February raids

SPRINGHILL – In his monthly report to town council, Springhill’s acting police chief Dean Ruddick reported the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Unit executed five warrants in the county during the month of February, netting 14 arrests, 25 charges under the Criminal Code, 15 charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and on charge under the Customs and Excise Act.

Amongst the items seized included a handgun, 16 long guns, an assortment of ammunition, a quantity of marijuana, hashish, ecstasy, ephedrine, crack cocaine, marijuana growing equipment and $1,515 in cash.

All said, the seized articles were valued at $37,000.
