Falconer trial to start in January

Christopher Falconer is accused of killing Amber Kirwan.

The trial for Christopher Falconer who is accused of killing Amber Kirwan will start on Jan. 6 and run for the entire month.

Kirwan was last seen by friends at the Dooly's in New Glasgow in Oct. 2011. Her body was found Nov. 5 in Heathbell.

Falconer was later charged with kidnapping and murder. A preliminary inquiry was held in February. Falconer has pleaded not guilty.

Yeah Joe, while you are at it, why should we hold accused school shooters, serial killers or multiple child sexual abusers in jail - pretrial? Because there is a thing called risk and threat assessment, risk of flight, a past history of criminality or violence. Think before clicking on "submit a comment"
