AMHERST – It’s become a tradition.
“We do it every year,” said Heather Matthews of Maggie’s Place, Amherst.
The resource centre is hosting a free Easter Fun Day on Saturday, March 23, although they’re using a bigger venue to accommodate the large number of kids, parents and grandparents expected.
“It’s at Spring Street Academy,” said Matthews.
The event attracted about 160 kids last year, she said, the biggest number yet.
The fun starts at 10 a.m. and runs to noon. They’ll have arts and crafts activities, including dyeing eggs and making bunny ears, and a ‘hopstacle’ course will be set up, too.
“They love it,” said Matthews of those who attend. There will be healthy nibbles provided, as well as a small treat from a special guest.
“The Easter Bunny always comes for a visit,” she said.
