AMHERST – The first day of March Break meant the first day of March Break activities at the Four Fathers Memorial Library in Amherst. Bobby Bogdanov was in the facility’s seminar room with his young daughter, Darcy Bogdanova.
“She wanted something to do,” he said.
Darcy was colouring in a butterfly picture at one of many tables set up with art supplies in the small space. About three dozen kids were signed up to take part in the Primary to Grade 6 ‘Art Free for All’ event Monday afternoon.
“Supervising the mayhem here today,” said library employee Adam Davies of his role in the goings-on.
Some kids coloured or painted, while others were making paper airplanes and even a kite.
Brooklyn Hirtle was working on a picture with hearts and a butterfly. Painting was her favourite activity.
“Working on a man,” said Tucker Makinen of his picture. The young boy is from out-of-town but was there with his grandmother. He confirmed he was having fun.
“I like to colour,” he said.
