Car fire on Fort Lawrence Road

AMHERST – The Amherst Fire Department responded to a vehicle on fire Friday afternoon along the Fort Lawrence Road. Owner of the vehicle, Jim Atkinson, said he was away working on his tractor at the other end of his property.

“I just came back to put another (hay) bale on and it was burning,” he said.

Fire fighters responded to the small blaze and extinguished it quickly.
