AMHERST – A 52-year-old Fox River woman and 63-year-old Amherst man are facing drug charges following a trafficking investigation on Friday by members of the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit.
During the investigation the woman was arrested for driving while impaired by a drug. A search of the woman located a quantity of hydromorphone narcotics for which she did not have a prescription.
Subsequent to the arrest, the man was taken into custody for trafficking in hydromorphone. A search of the man located hydromorphone narcotics for which he did not have a prescription as well as a quantity of cash.
A warrant was issued and a search of the man’s home located more hydromorphone narcotics, and oxycodone (endocet) for which there was no prescription as well as a quantity of illegal cigarettes.
The man will appear in provincial court on April 1 to face charges of trafficking in hydromorphone, possession of hydromorpone for the purpose of trafficking, possession of oxycodone and illegal possession of cigarettes.
The womn will appear April 15 to enter a plea to impaired driving by drug and illegal possession of hydromorphone.
