Temporary change of service at North Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre

There will be no physician available at the North Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

PUGWASH – There will be no physician available to provide medical coverage at the North Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre on Saturday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

A nurse practitioner will be working the CEC during the daytime hours to see patients with non-emergency health care issues. Overnight coverage, from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., will be provided by the paramedic/registered nurse/oversight physician team as usual.

The public is reminded to always call 911 in an emergency situation. General health concerns can also be directed to Healthlink 911.

Anyone who is unclear of the proper course of action can call the hospital at 243-2521.

It may be because physicians needs time off as well, not because they cannot pay for one. Nurse Practitioners are competent to take care of most cases that will arise and if not, paramedics will take the person to the proper place.
