UPDATE,  Thursday 9:37 a.m.: Witness 22 is taking the stand in the preliminary inquiry of Christopher Falconer.

This witness is expected to testify for most of the day.  The court room galley is about three-quarters full this morning.  The inquiry is the only thing scheduled for this courtroom today.

PICTOU – A morning court session ended Wednesday with only two witnesses testifying at the preliminary inquiry for Christopher Falconer.

Witness 20 and 21 testified during preliminary inquiry yesterday, but a publication ban on evidence and the identification of witnesses prohibits information from being published or broadcast.  The inquiry is expected to wrap up next week since the Crown announced it only has a few witnesses left to take the stand in Pictou provincial court.

Falconer is charged with murder and kidnapping in the death of Amber Kirwan who went missing Oct. 9, 2011, after leaving a pool hall in downtown New Glasgow. Her remains were found about a month later in Heathbell, Pictou County.

A full day session is scheduled to take place Thursday.  Fifteen days were originally set aside for the preliminary inquiry.
