Police investigating break into Bella’s Café

Police are investigating a break into Bella's Cafe early Friday morning during which a laptop and a small amount of money were taken.

AMHERST – A small amount of money and a laptop computer were taken during a break into a downtown restaurant early Friday.

Amherst Police say someone broke into Bella’s Café in the early morning. Officers discovered the break-in while conducting foot patrols in the area.

Entry was made through the front door after thieves had broken a window.

Thieves also tried unsuccessfully to break into Snow White Landry and Convenience.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Amherst Police Department at 667-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Lets ask come quesions. How many police officers are in this town?.I know the number but I'll chllange everone else to find out for themselves here. Let me throw some simple questions at ya. How many breakins or thefts occur into properties between the hours of 9am and 11 pm? If during the hours between 11pm and 6 am the bad guys are out patrolling our streets looking for a score why not have the good guys out there to balance this threat. Instead you see speed traps all over the place trying to catch those bad guys (speeders doing 60 in a 50 km zone) or failing to come to a complete stop when you roll through a stop sign even you are 100 % sure that nothing is coming. Maybe our focus should have our best guys against the real bad guys during the hours their game is being played. Thiefs do not play by our rules they make their own!
