Springhill songwriter gets regional nod

SPRINGHILL – Chris Brown is on his way to building a record collection of his own, where he is the featured artist.  

The Springhill-native was declared the regional winner by radio station Q104 in Halifax to represent the province in the national songwriting competition Radio Star for his song “The Record Collection.” The accomplishment now places his entry against representatives from across Canada where up for grabs is $10,000 cash, 30-hours of studio time at Metalworks Studio – studio to such stars as Anne Murray, Guns N’ Roses and Rush – $5,000 worth of national radio promotion, musical instruments and many more goodies.

Performing under the moniker The Brown, you can cast a "Fan vote" at http://radiostar.ca/fans-choice/. Voting continues until 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 22.
