Cumberland RCMP direct traffic after a truck was blown off the Trans Canada Highway this afternoon.

AMHERST – A transport truck was blown off the westbound lane of Trans Canada Highway and rolled onto its side one kilometer before the Nova Scotia/New Brunswick border Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Winds were gusting in excess of 100 km/h when the rollover occurred.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and suffered no injuries.

A hazardous materials team from he Amherst Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at 5:20 p.m.
