AMHERST – The Amherst Colts lost 7-2 to the Spryfield Silver and Black Attack Sunday afternoon at Amherst Stadium.
We out played this team in the first (period) and we were down 3-1, with shots in our favour 20-12,” said Colts coach Paul Atkinson. "(Colts goaltender Alex) Madder made some good saves and allowed the Attacks offence to get rolling.”
Shots on goal were 43-31 in favour of the Attack.
"They played their style and we allowed it,” said Atkinson. "We have to get back to the simple things, dumping the puck, shooting pucks, and hitting bodies.
“We were doing this before, and throughout December, and having lots of success,” he added. “We will be back, just few knobs to get adjusted in the next week or two."
Teams are still jostling for playoff position.
“We are hoping to finish fifth but we will need a couple favours from some other teams,” said Atkinson “We will see but, it does not matter who we face, we have a good chance at moving on two the second round where things will get really interesting.”
The Colts travel to the South Shore on Saturday to play the Wild.
