Amherst man charged with drug possession after traffic stop

FOLLY LAKE – A 54-year-old Amherst man has been charged with possession of marijuana following a traffic stop near Folly Lake on Wednesday.

RCMP Northern Traffic Services were conducting traffic enforcement on Trunk 4 when the vehicle was pulled over for speeding. As a result of the traffic stop, a man was arrested and searched and approximately 240 grams of marijuana were seized.

The man has been released from custody and will appear in provincial court in Amherst on March 18 at 9:30 a.m.
