Pugwash man facing charges following search of home

A Pugwash man is facing firearms and drug charges following a search of a residence on Friday.

PUGWASH – A 28-year-old Pugwash man was arrested following a search of his residence by members of the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit on Friday.

A loaded .22 caliber rifle was seized from the home. The man was on a firearms prohibition order at the time. A small quantity of marijuana was seized as well.

The accused has been released from custody and will appear in provincial court in Amherst on Feb. 25 to respond to charges under the criminal code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
