HALIFAX – Liberal MP Geoff Regan has endorsed Justin Trudeau’s bid for the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada.
“I believe in Justin’s vision for Canada and the energy and dedication he’s shown for the Liberal Party and Liberal values,” Regan said in a news release.
The Halifax West MP said he is excited about the leadership campaign and the fact that the race is generating a tremendous amount of interest among Canadians.
Mr. Regan, a former fisheries minister and regional minister for Nova Scotia, said he believes Trudeau’s vision for the country is in stark contrast to the divisive approach of the Harper Conservatives and this will appeal to a majority of Canadians.
“I’ve worked closely with Justin in caucus and in the House and I am impressed by his knowledge, his compassion and his commitment to building a stronger, more unified Canada.”
