Junior Girls – Rachael Terris

Rachael has been tearing up the basketball court in her Grade 9 year. She leads the team in points and plays a vital role defensively. She has a broad range in her shooting ability and can use her left and right side almost fluently. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, she is enrolled in the French extended class and maintains good standing academically.

 

Junior Boys – Nate Chute

Nate has earned the title for December’s Athlete of The Month. He plays on the Jr. Boys Basketball team and is currently the team's top scorer. Nate is the starting point guard on the team and takes a leadership roll both at practice and on the court in games. Nate is a great asset to his team; he is always willing to help the coaches and his team mates by running drills at practice and controlling plays during games.

 

Senior Girls - Stephanie McCormick

The Springhill Senior Girls Basketball Team finished a successful first half of the season, winning the Bonar Law Memorial Tournament by defeating the Moncton High Girls team 75-70. The tournament win pushed the girls’ overall record to 17-1. During this terrific run Stephanie McCormick has been a leader in team rebounding. She starts the girls vaunted transition offense, and spaces the defence with great passes, plays lockdown defence, and provides an improved three-point attack. 

 

Senior Boys – Brandon Clarke

Senior Boys Athlete of the month for December is Brandon Clarke. Brandon is a Grade 12 Student at SHS. His basketball days start way back in Grade 4 with mini ball. Through the years Brandon has been a team player and has showed his love for the game with his dedication and intensity on the court. After being off in November with an injury, Brandon has dominated the court averaging 22-points a game.
