SHS host tourney beginning Friday at 2 p.m.

The SHS Golden Eagles celebrate in New Germany

NEW GERMANY – The Springhill High School Golden Eagles senior ladies basketball team continued to dominate in Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation play over the weekend weekend, winning all their games during the 5th Annual Julie DeBaie Memorial Basketball Tournament in New Germany.

The Eagles beat the Shelburne Rebels 70-38 and then the Amherst Regional High School Vikettes JV team 59-51 to go to the finals against Northeast Kings Education Centre of Canning.

The girls pushed hard and pulled off a 59-46 victory to bring home the championship trophy.

The lady Golden Eagles are now 22-1 on the season.

This coming weekend the SHS Eagles host the ScotiaBank January Thaw Tournament in Springhill with the tip-off game starting Friday at 2 p.m.
