HL: RCMP arrest Joggins man after New Year’s Eve incident
JOGGINS – A 48-year-old Joggins man remains in custody following a New Year’s Eve standoff in the community.
Cumberland RCMP received a call at 11:50 p.m. on Monday that an “emotionally disturbed” man was threatening to kill himself on Main Street.
Police established communication and set up a perimeter around the home.
The man was apprehended without incident at 1:30 a.m.
He faces several firearms charges under the Criminal Code. Police seized a long gun and ammunition.
