AMHERST – High winds and heavy snow blanketed the Amherst area throughout the day Sunday, but the worst of the last storm of 2012 has passed.
Environment Canada has ended a blizzard warning for Cumberland County, but has replaced it with a blowing snow warning.
Between five and 10 centimetres of snow is forecast to fall overnight.
Northwest winds gusting to 90 km/h are expected to develop throughout the evening and persist until Monday morning.
Police reported few incidents during Sunday's storm.
RCMP were called to Highway 104 early in the afternoon to respond to a single vehicle collision caused when a car was caught in slush and skidded off the road. There were no injuries.
At about 3 p.m., police were called to the Fort Lawrence Road, where a vehicle had left the road and ended up in the ditch. There were no injuries.
