REXTON, N.B. – The Springhill High Golden Eagles senior girls basketball team captured the championship banner at the Friends of the Bengals invitational basketball tournament in Rexton, N.B., over the weekend.

Sydnee Balser led the charge with 42 points, as the Eagles beat Moncton High School 75-70 in the finals.

The Golden Eagles, which are coached by first-year coach Darrel McLellan, is 17-1 in early season play.
