UPDATE

AMHERST – RCMP have reopened the eastbound lanes of Trans-Canada Highway between exits 6 and 7 after removing a tractor trailer that skidded off the road near Oxford.

Const. Travise Dow of the Cumberland RCMP said the truck left the highway. Roads were snow-covered at the time.

The closure lasted for nearly an hour.

Dow said there were several minor motor vehicle collisions throughout the county. Fortunately, he said, all but one of the crashes were single-vehicle collisions and there were no serious injuries in any of them.

He said motorists have been driving cautiously throughout the district.
