MacKay gets to meet The Donald

AMHERST – Spencer MacKay, originally from Amherst and now living in Halifax, always is on the search for filming locations when he visits New York City on the frequent tours offered by Showcase Productions Society.

His grandparents, Ed and Carol MacKay, try to accommodate Spencer’s wishes when they accompany him but it was this fall when he was joined with his uncle, Terry Nolan, that culminated in his best visit.

While checking out Trump Tower, he recognized the man who “shows the door” to the people who are fired by Donald Trump.

In his wheelchair he managed to find his way over to the gentleman, introduce himself and with his winning smile and outgoing personality was taken up to the boardroom where all the action on Celebrity Apprentice takes place.

He got to meet Trump’s three children, sit at the boardroom table and even act out, “Your Fired!” for the camera.

It was while he was waiting for his personally signed by Donald Trump book (as promised by Eric Trump) that Donald walked through the door and greeted Spencer.

After a short introduction, they had their picture taken with the “Trumpster” who then asked his family to take Spencer, his mother and his uncle down to the Trump Store and give them whatever they wanted but to make sure that “his mother got a new watch.”

Spencer got some ties, cufflinks, chocolates and even some colognes and aftershave. He also received a bottle of champagne that he has promised to keep until he is at least 18-years-old.

After having a lunch on the Trumps, they were invited to a by-invitation-only gala that evening.  It was there he met many more celebrities including LaToya Jackson, Stephen Baldwin and many others, capping off a wonderful day.as na

I have known Spencer since he was in grade two. I am so proud of him and what he has accomplished in his life and was so excited to see him on the news (yet again!) for such a great storyline! AMAZING!!! I don't know too many people who have his courage and strength! I have said to Spencer many times, "You are going places mister and I know you will be a huge success in life!! GO SPENCER!!!!

Instead of wasting our time postingcomments that has nothing to do with the main point of the article, how about saying something nice about this experience? Mr Trump obviously took the time to meet with Spencer who is an amazing ambassador for people with disabilities. Kudos to Trump and Spencer.
