AMHERST – Shoppers can expect some great deals this Friday for the Black Friday shopping event.

Deanne Fitzpatrick, one of the marketing committee members with the downtown advisory committee said all the shopping spots in the downtown core have committed to putting on some great deals for shoppers.

“Their very best specials is what they’re trying to do,” said Fitzpatrick. “Good prices and good value and good service is what it’s about.”

Marcie Lewis, sales and marketing co-rodinator for the town, said Black Friday is known for its great shopping deals. The stores, she said, should have something for everyone.

“That will mean something different for each business,” she said. “What’s so special about it is that each business can choose what they would like to offer and what works best for them.”

The focus for the event is for the shops to have their best deals of the year available to their customers.

The special deals for the night of shopping can be found on the Christmas in Downtown Amherst Facebook page.

Shoppers can also take advantage of the sales to use their passports to increase their chances of winning the $2,000 gift basket to be awarded Dec. 17.
