BROOKDALE – RCMP in Cumberland County are set to launch a new anti-bullying program on Wednesday.
Members of the local detachment will launch the WITS bullying prevention program at Cumberland North Academy at 1 p.m.
WITS stands for Walk Away, Ignore, Talk It Out and Seek Help. It’s a program designed for elementary-aged school children. The aim of the program is to create communities that are engaged in the prevention of peer victimization and bullying.
The RCMP is partnering with the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board.
Joining RCMP officials at the launch will be members of the Amherst Ramblers, Mount Allison student athletes, Amherst volunteer firefighters and EHS paramedics.
