AMHERST – The Revival Centre recently hosted its second annual gospel concert in support of the Amherst Food Assistance Network, raising $1,223 and groceries for the organization.

Senior Pastor Harold Cole opened the concert in prayer and scripture, while Rev. Jonathan Cole was the emcee. The Revival Centre’s musical director, James Cole, helped organize the event.

The group heard from Kent Carter, the African Children’s Choir Trio from Moncton, Jim, Sharon and Carolyn, John 3:16, Project Isiah, Guy and the Melody Mean, the Rivival Centre adult and junior choirs, Darlene Strong and a group from Highland AME and Christian Goodine.

The food bank, located on King Street, continues to see a slight increase in demand. It presently serves about 300 families in the Amherst area.
