This was only a matter of time. Over the last two hockey seasons I have been to the rink at least one night per week for my sons hockey practice. There is always a pack of Dirt Bags hanging around the side door . When it gets colder they move inside. I have witnessed them challenge men as well as 12 year old players. I have personally had to hold back a Pee Wee aged player from getting verbally involved with them for fear that they would assault us. They are foul mouthed and lack any respect. I have been to several rinks around the province and have never seen anything like it. What a shame, such a nice facility going down the crapper.

Very sad to hear that there is an arrest involved. What is wrong with people for them to have absolutely no respect for such a community asset as this? I am really hoping for a quick recovery - the more I sit here thinking about this the angrier I am getting. A lot of families will be affected. Shame on whoever is responsible - maybe there should be an investment made in security cameras.

Does this mean the dimond dinner is cancelled as well?... What a shame, Springhillers had put a lot of time, effort and money into such a beautiful facility and the employees there take such pride in their building and someone takes it upon themselves to ruin it.
