Wolfpack says farewell to another season

AMHERST – The Cumberland Minor Football Wolfpack said farewell to their playing season Saturday night during their year-end banquet at Amherst Regional High School.

The players were given their awards for a season well played and even managed to win themselves some door prizes.

Coach Travise Dow couldn’t have been happier with the past season.

“Enrolment was up 60 per cent,” he said. It’s great to see so many kids learning about the game, getting on the field and enjoying it.”

For Dow, the past season wasn’t about how many field goals were brought in or how many games were won; it was all about having the kids learn about the game and sharing his love for the pigskin.

For the next football season, Dow has a few goals in mind. He hopes to continue to draw more football fans into the game and out onto the field.

“It’s all about being safe, and having fun.”
