DEBERT - A 23-year-old Valley man was arrested after a bomb threat was called in to Peter Kohler Windows and Entrance Systems on Monday morning.

The man was employed by the company.

"Police were able to track down the cell phone used to make the bomb threat to an employee of Kohler Windows," said RCMP Sergeant Al Affleck, in a news release.

"At noon a 23-year-old male from Valley was arrested by police on Kohler Windows property."

Colchester RCMP received a 911 call at 9:30 a.m. in regard to a bomb threat at the Debert manufacturing facility.

The three buildings at Kohler Windows were evacuated. Company management and employees were initially sent in to inspect their work stations and then the RCMP emergency response team and a bomb-sniffing dog were sent in for a more thorough search. No bomb was located.

An estimated 300 people work at Kohler Windows. Initially, many seemed to have no idea why the evacuation was taking place.

"You probably know more than we do," one man told a reporter.

The company was established in 1977.

Police continue to investigate and charges of public mischief and uttering threats are pending completion of the investigation.
