First of tall ships arriving in Pugwash

The Peacemaker is the first of four tall ships to arrive near Pugwash. The ship is expected to arrive in the harbour tonight with the other three ships set to arrive Saturday morning.

Peacemaker to make its way into harbour tonight

PUGWASH - The first of four tall ships to be featured in this weekend's HarbourFest celebration in Pugwash is nearing the village.

The Peacemaker left Port Hawkesbury last night and was travelling along the Gulf Shore this afternoon, despite a lack of wind in the Northumberland Strait.

The ship is expected to make its way into the village during this evening's high tide.

The other three ships are straggling behind and should arrive in the village early Saturday morning.

Joining the Peacemaker in Pugwash will be Appledore V, Picton Castle and Sorea. The Appledore IV, HMS Bounty and Gazela will join the ship Hector in Pictou.

Theodore Tugboat is scheduled to be in the harbour on Sunday.

HarbourFest officially kicks off tonight with the opening ceremonies at 5 p.m.
