PARRSBORO – With brave faces and eager minds, the Class of 2012 has said goodbye to Parrsboro Regional High School.

A total of 31 graduates crossed the stage here on June 28 in front of a packed gymnasium of family and friends, heading off to what valedictorian Yves Davison described as "the next piece of the puzzle."

"Our memories are numerous, both good and bad. Some joyful, and others painful, such as our mutual loss," said Davison. "Our memories of our classmates and our accomplishments reflect who we are. We rejoice with triumph and win with grace. We learn from our defeats and maintain our dignity."

Davison finished at the head of his class with a 96 per cent average, earning him the Governor General's Academic Medal, as well as a $16,000 Dalhousie University Entrance Scholarship, and $1,850 worth of other bursaries and awards.

Jacy Fullerton graduated with a 93 per cent average, and received the Queen Elizabeth II Medal, as well as both a $6,000 Mount Allison University Entrance Scholarship and a $4,500 African Nova Scotian University Entrance Scholarship, and $2,550 worth of other awards and bursaries.

Erin Quinn graduated with a 91 per cent average, and received a $17,500 scholarship from Rowan Companies, Inc., as well as a $6,000 University of New Brunswick Scholarship, and $500 worth of other prizes.
