Former president Steven Theal

MACCAN – They said it would happen and it did.

The Maccan Legion, Branch 134, voted to release its charter this evening. The branch had 30 members. Apparently fewer than 10 showed up for 134’s final vote.

Former president Steven Theal doesn’t know what branch he’ll join now that Maccan is closed.

“That’s a decision I don’t know, I haven’t made yet.”

How was he feeling about his community following the shutdown?

“Maccan – not very good.”

Theal said he leaves the position with good memories.

“Remembrance Day went well,” he said – well enough that he thought it might be the start of something. But that’s not how it turned out.

Rememberance Day unites those who remember, politics divides them the rest of the year.
