AMHERST – After receiving a complaint about an impaired driver, the Amherst Police Department investigated the call and arrested a male over the weekend.
He has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and operating a motor vehicle while the alcohol in his blood exceeded .08 per cent.
He will appear in court at a later date to respond to the charges, as well as charges of uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
The Amherst police Department responded to 35 calls between Friday and Sunday.
Among the complaints was another male who was held in custody following allegations of assault causing bodily harm following an incident Saturday morning. He will also answer to allegations of breaching his court ordered conditions.
Other complaints included three property related investigations, two fraud related complaints, four thefts, a complaint of a dangerous driver, two motor vehicle accidents, three disturbance related calls and two complaints regarding intoxicated persons.
