CHAPMAN SETTLEMENT – A 40-year-old Cumberland County man died Sunday after a tree he was cutting down struck him.
The RCMP in Amherst was called to the sudden death incident on Chapman Settlement Road in Chapman Settlement Sunday at 11:45 a.m.
The investigation revealed that a male was cutting down a tree on his property when the tree fell on him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body has been transported to Halifax for an autopsy.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
Chapman Settlement is located Southwest of Amherst Shore Provincial Park.
