Sentencing for sexual assault postponed

AMHERST – Ross Stanley Robinson, 47, of Main Street, Parrsboro, who on Jan. 25 was found guilty of committing sexual assault, appeared in court in Amherst on Tuesday and had his sentencing postponed until April 3, 2012.

Robinson’s defence requested adjournment to review the Crown’s proposal on sentencing, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday.

The sexual assault occurred June 8, 2011, in Parrsboro.

A publication ban has been placed in relation to the name of the victim.
