Police respond to 30 calls over weekend
AMHERST – Members of the Amherst Police Department police arrested two adult males Saturday night following a complaint of impaired driving.
A vehicle was stopped by police and the driver given a breathalyzer test and, as a result, is facing charges of impaired driving and having a blood alcohol level of over the legal limit.
Police are also considering charges of failing to comply with conditions against the male passenger.
Police responded to approx 30 calls for service over the weekend.
A complaint of shoplifting on Friday resulted in the arrest of two adult males.
Other complaints on Friday included a false alarm, assault, and an allegation of fraud.
Through the night police responded to an allegation of a breach of conditions, uttering threats and several disturbances.
Throughout Saturday police responded to a motor vehicle collision, a residential disturbance and a shoplifter.
As well a 34-year-old male is facing a charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license following a traffic stop Saturday afternoon.
