AMHERST – A 28-year-old Amherst man was in court on Monday to face several charges, including a charge of attempted murder with a knife.
He was also charged with committing and indictable offence by choking the victim with his hands; wounding the victim with a knife and, thereby, committing aggravated assault; and having in his possession a knife for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.
The case has been adjourned until Feb. 20, at 9:30 a.m. for election and plea.
The incidents occurred Jan. 25, 2012 in Amherst.
