AMHERST – It’s one of Amherst’s biggest annual arts events. Almost 100 works by 60 or more artists – most of them local – with a fundraising goal of $10,000. Two hundred people attended last year’s An Evening of Art, and this year the executive director of Autumn House hopes for even more.

“There’s something for everyone,” said Terry Cove. The focal point of the Feb. 18 event, held at ARHS, is an art auction. A piece last year went for more than $600. But a $25 entry ticket – which includes Art of Eating Deli munchies and two drinks – includes a shot at winning one of 40 pieces being given as door prizes.

The event is the year’s biggest fundraiser for the transition house that assists women harmed by domestic violence.

The doors open at 6:30, and the auction begins at 7:30.
